Data protection information for using the LohiBW app

Protecting your privacy when you use the LohiBW app (hereinafter called “app”) is very important to us. To meet this requirement, we guarantee the highest level of data protection and data security with the help of triple encryption. Provision of personal data when logging into the portal and while using the app is voluntary. We shall use the data for providing consultation services and for preparing your tax return only. In the following section, we would like to explain how we process personal data:

Login for using the app

If you wish to use the option of encrypted dispatch of tax documents, you just need access to our member portal. Tell your consultant at your next appointment that you would like to transfer your data via the secure member portal in future, and leave behind your complete name, membership number and a valid email address. You will then receive your personal activation key and an activation link via email. Due to security reasons, we recommend that you select a secure password after logging into our portal for the first time, and keep changing it from time to time.

Functioning of the app

You can use our app to conveniently transfer all the data required by your consultant to prepare the income tax return. After opening the app, you are requested to enter your login data, i.e., your email address and password. This login data is saved in the app in an encrypted manner. The app then sends a unique token to our login server for identification purposes. You can now take a photo of your documents using the camera of your smartphone. The data that is photographed is saved on your smartphone in an encrypted manner. Subsequently, you can send the photographed data to us in an encrypted manner. The photographed documents are deleted after the transfer process is complete; only a very small image remains on the smartphone for you to have an overview of the documents you have sent to us. The sent data is then stored on our portal and processed exclusively for the purposes mentioned.

Sub-contractors

As part of the maintenance process of our member portal, it is possible that our IT service providers have access to your data. All our IT service providers are under strict obligation to conform to data protection guidelines when handling your data.
